Happy Holidays

Last night, we went on a wagon ride pulled by 2 horses. It was a prive ride for friends and family of a friend's company. The ride lasted about an hour and a half and Cadence had so much fun. All of the adults were singing Christmas songs and Cadence was singing and dancing right along with them. Even though it was getting colder towards the end, you wouldn't know it by looking at Cadence. I'm such a goof though because I forgot my camera. I guess we were in a rush to get there. When we were done with the wagon ride, we picked out a Christmas tree. We set it up last night and decorated it tonight. Cadence didn't know what to think but kept saying 'twee, twee'. I must say though that it is a bit frustrating having an 18 month old around a decorated tree. She is so interested in it but how do we tell her 'no it's dangerous' without breaking her heart? We tried to put the unbreakable ornaments at the bottom of the tree but we didn't realize she sure can reach higher than we thought. It was so much fun, can't wait to see what next year brings with Cadence. Above: Trying to get a good picture....

Some of our favorites

The Schlinger's are some of our favorite people out here in MN. We absolutely love them! They are always there when we need them for advice, help, or just to hang out. Lea is almost 10 and Kim and I joke that Cadence needs a big sister and it should be Lea because they already have this special bond and they are inseperable when they are together. Cadence loves Lea to pieces and Lea loves Cadence. We all love their whole family. They are so awesome, they even invite our family over for Christmas Eve dinner and presents. It means to much to us that they involve us in their traditions. It's making me tear up as I write this and think about it. I'll post pics after the special night. While my mom was here, we went to see Zack (number 7) play a hockey game. He just started this year and since my mom missed some of my nephew's games, we thought it would make her feel right at home to be in the rink!

Preparing for the future

My mom came to visit during Thanksgiving and we all had a blast. We greatly appreciated her help while Jon and I worked. She watched Cadence almost every day and they had a great time. One thing that my mom and I do every year when she is here for Thanksgiving is go shopping on Black Friday. Cadence was looking through the flyers figuring out what she wanted from Santa. Of course she found something Mickey. I swear I have never seen a child do obsessed in my life.

Harp

Jon built this harp for Cadence before she was born. A few weeks ago, she went a few days in a row where she had to play it all day long.

Slacker

Sorry I have been such a slacker lately with postings. With Jon going to Jersey, my mom being here, Thanksgiving, etc I've been a bit busy. I promise I will post LOTS of updates about all of us in MN.

Playing

Cadence loves to play with the kitties. They are very tolerant of her pulling their tails, giving them hugs and kisses and chasing them around the living room. We are very lucky! She also likes to play ball.

Lately Cadence has been smiling for the camera. I love it! She's also started to let me put her hair up without pulling it out. I love this picture. She looks ity bity in it even though it was just taken last night. I think it's the hair.
