Cranky Pants

Lately we've been calling Cadence Little Miss Cranky Pants. When I dress her in the morning, I don't put her cranky pants on however she likes to change when daddy comes home. She's getting two more teeth on top so it's made her ultra crabby. I'm jealous of all you parents who have teething children that don't make a peep!!!! I must say that teething is so far my least favorite part of parenting. I just hate knowing that our sweet little girl is in so much pain and there's not much we can do to help her. Pretty soon all her teeth will be in and we won't have to worry about it until her 6 year molars come in!! Thank goodness!!!! She's been anti-crib for the last few days also so we've been having to put her to sleep and make sure she's sound asleep before we lay her down. Not fun, especially since she's been waking up at least twice throughout the night (since Friday night). Here's some pics of her and daddy getting ready for bed!

Hooray!

Say Hooray for 2 more teeth! Cadence loves putting anything she can get her hands on (and that's just about everything) into her mouth. Especially her hands and feet! She loves to be in just her diaper moving about freely. This is when we find her playing a lot with her feet! So cute!

Look at those chunky little legs!

I'm Trying, Really I Am

Cadence is really trying to crawl but doesn't know it yet. It's so crazy with little ones. One day they just start doing something new. We can't wait until she starts crawling. It won't be long. She rolls over on her belly all the time now, getting all the practice she can! She's such a happy baby!

Be careful

So you'd think that baby teething toys should be safe, right?!!? Well, we noticed the other day that Cadence was scraping the paint off of a few of her teethers. Who would have thunk? So, I guess we just wanted people who have little ones to watch their toys to make sure that they aren't eating the paint off of them.

Here you can see the green on the butterfly is coming off.

All of the toys I have noticed were made by Sassy. I have emailed them with my concerns. I hope you will all take notice to your child's toys as well and voice your concerns if you have any. Their website is www.sassybaby.com.

A new bathtub

So, we have always given Cadence a bath in the bathtub (except when she was really little we'd put her in her baby tub in the sink). Jon tried something new today with Cadence. She seemed to really enjoy herself!

I bet she's thinking "Uh, dad...I'm not a dish"!

Our backyard

So, we don't have much of a backyard, it's mostly woods. But, this time of year here is what we find:

Jon invited his great photographer friend Sammy out next year at this time to get some really good shots!

Loungin

Cadence loves to relax. She reached in the little holder on her changing 'table' and grabbed her pacifier! So cute!

The countdown has begun!!!!

Love my Rattle!

Cadence got this rattle for Christmas from her Memere and she absolutely loves it! She loves to move her wrist around and shake it. So cute!!

P.S. Even when she's smiling she doesn't want to show those teeth. What a little stinker :)

Loungin

Cadence is not quite a cuddler. So, when I saw this photo opportunity, I had to take it.
She had a very very crabby day at home today. We ran some errands and went to dinner with a friend. The only time she seemed to enjoy herself today was when we were out and about and at dinner. (Thank goodness she was good at dinner--we didn't want to be 'that family')! We've realized that she LOVES being out in public looking around and I guess 'people watching'. I guess we tuckered her out with our errands cause she wanted to cuddle most of the night!!!

New Shoes

I went shopping this weekend with a friend with no intentions of buying anything. We stopped at a shoe store and I couldn't resist these cute shoes for Cadence. Of course she doesn't need to be wearning shoes right now but I couldn't help myself. A friend at work gave me a bunch of shoes that don't fit her daughter anymore and I haven't been able to get a single pair on Cadence's feet because they are very very chunky. So, when I saw these shoes, and realized that they fit her feet, they were a must have!!

I see you!

I have teeth!

I tried to get some pictures of Cadence's 4 teeth but I didn't have much luck. She doesn't like to show them to the camera!

Here's her top 2 teeth.

And her bottom 2 that she's had since she was 4 months old!

Swinging

Lately when we've put Cadence in her swing, she's been sitting herself up. I can't believe how fast she's developing!

For Auntie Kasey and Uncle Bam!

So, I've been working on my first afghan for my best friend for her wedding. We won't say how long ago she got married but I am coming along with finishing it. Cadence of course wants to play with everything that she shouldn't...including this blanket!
So, Auntie Kasey and Uncle Bam, here's a preview!
P.S. She loves to play peek-a-boo!

Video

Here's my first attempt to add a video to this page. I hope you enjoy it!

Bathtub Baby

Then it was time for a bath! We gave her a bath in her little seat then sat her right in the tub (with mommy holding onto her of course). She was having such a ball spalshing the water. Even though she'd get it all over her face, she'd spalsh again! So cute!

Eating like a Champ!

Cadence loves her oatmeal. It's the only thing we can get her to actually enjoy eating. We couldn't resist these pictures the other night. We had her in her jammies already and decided to take them off to let her eat. Oh boy she had a ball!!

Oh my

It's finally time to put the crib down a notch. Cadence has started pulling herself up so we decided it was time to put the crib down. I have to stand on a stool in order to get her out but soon enough she'll be pulling herself to a sitting position and I won't have to use the stool (ok I probably still will have to use it).

We've also tried some new food with Cadence. She has not taken to the rice cereal or the fruits very well the last 2 1/2 months so last night I tried feeding her baby oatmeal. What a difference. She opened up for every bite and was leaning forward for more! So, we tried it again today and it was another sucess!

Faster Internet please!

Tomorrow my mom gets Comcast...Very fast internet...for her! We are so excited and can't wait to see one another through the webcams! We tried it once before but with her slow dial-up it wasn't working very well. Can't wait to see how it works this time! If anyone else has a webcam, we'd love to see you!

Mom get ready to see this very cute face!!

My new outfit!

While shopping for Christmas presents from Great Memere and Grandpa Norton, we came across this very cute one piece outfit. Jon had to have it for her! It says Dad's Team and the small circle says Mom Approved Athletic Gear! So cute!

Out to Dinner

Jon and I went out to dinner last night and took Cadence with us. There was a little 3 or 4 year old girl who came up to us and wanted to say hi to the baby. Her mother told us that Cadence was a very good baby. We agree! She is such a good baby while we're out-and while we're home (99% of the time). We couldn't ask for anything better.
While we were there, we got Cadence a cup of water to try. We haven't tried to feed her much more than milk because she has been having a really fussy time with baby food. We don't want to overload her too much. She did very well with the cup of water though. She kept reaching for it from Jon's hands. So, every couple days, we give her a bit of water to taste. We got her a sippy cup and she's not too sure what to do with it yet, she just likes to chew, chew, chew! So, we'll stick with the plastic cup for now!

Time to post some new pictures! Things are going well. Cadence has been experimenting with her new teeth on top. She has begun to grind them...ewww. Jon and I hate the sound so whenever we hear it we give her a pacifier and she gladly takes it! The other afternoon, I went to get Cadence up from her nap that she didn't take (she didn't want to fall asleep) and she was on her belly!!! How exciting!!! Pretty soon she's gonna be all over the place. I can't wait!

Cadence doesn't like to wear hats. She pulls them off ALL THE TIME with both hands. It's cute but frustrating when we're outside.

Happy New Year

We hope everyone had a great New Year's. We went to our friend's Joy and Rob's for New Year's Eve. We didn't stay long but Kaylynne loved Cadence. Jon and I went to the movies to celebrate 4 wonderful years. Our friend Kim watched Cadence while we were gone. It was a wonderful day. Although when we're away from our little princess we miss her terribly.
