Just pictures

A day at the park

We took Cadence down to the park across the street from our

house the other day. We knew they were building a new playground down there but had no idea what it was going to look like. This playground is HUGE! I only got a pic of the front half but it's absolutely GIGANTIC! It's a universal playground so anyone can play! We're so lucky to have it right across the street!

Evan Michael

My friend Shannon had her baby boy yesterday 9/27 at 7:11am. He weighed 7lbs 11 oz and was 21 inches long. They named him Evan Michael. He is such a cutie. I took Cadence up to see them today. She wasn't exactly sure what to think of him...especially when I was holding him. Good thing there was a balloon there to distract her! Congratulations to Shannon and her family!

Here are a few cute pics. Cadence is obsessed with shoes. I mean obsessed! From the minute she wakes up in the morning till she goes to bed, she has to be wearing a pair of shoes. I guess it doesn't matter what shoes she's wearing :) It's funny, this past week it's been very hot and Cadence will be running around in her diaper and a pair of shoes!!
The second picture is of her riding her 'new bike'. This bike was actually one that I had when I was a kid. She's still a little short for it and kept getting her feet caught near the wheels so daddy was pushing her around the living room!

A bit more camping

Here are just a few more pics from our camping adventure...
We all took a walk down to the river on the last afternoon we were there. Since check out wasn't until 4:00pm we had a bit of time to spare.

I think Cadence was ready to go...

Mystery Cave

During our camping trip, it rained quite a bit. To get out of the rain, we decided to take a trip to Mystery Cave right around the corner from the campground. We went with 3 nine year olds and their parents. Needless to say Cadence didn't enjoy it as much as the older kids but it was still a fun experience.
At the caves, there was a 'science station' where you could put some mega phones up to your ears and listen to stories about caves, etc. Cadence loved these. At one point, she had one up to each ear listening to the stories!

Camping

We went on our first camping trip with Cadence a couple weeks ago. Jon and I were kind of nervous about how Cadence would react to sleeping in a tent. We were very delighted when she did excellent! Despite the cold, wet weather, we made it! Cadence had a ball walking around and around the campground.
Some of these pics are just me fooling around with the camera. I found a 'high color' setting as you can see in the picture of Lea with the umbrella. I also tinkered around with the black and white setting just for kicks. I'm not sure what Kim was thinking as she let Cadence play with a spoon and a pot one rainy morning while we hung out in their camper.

Love this hat

I couldn't resist this picture. I love this beanie on this baby!!

Gramma Deb's

We have been so fortunate to meet some great people out here. People that we will be friends with forever!! I consider myself and my family to be honorary members of my friend Deb's whole family. Deb has a daughter my age who has 2 children. We get along so great and she truly is like a sister to me. I know that I can go to her with anything and we sure do have fun when we hang out. Deb is like a mom to me out here in MN. I am grateful to have them as part of our lives here. Thanks guys! Bobbi's kids Chase and Reagan with Cadence.
Cadence loves Deb's dog Boomer!
A chair for Cadence. Reagan was so nice to share her chair with Cadence.
I think Cadence and Reagan are having a serious chat while both petting Boomer!

The Great MN Get Together

We went to the fair this year and decided to take Cadence. We thought that this might be her one and only chance at seeing the "Great Minnesota Get Together" in person. She enjoyed playing with the goats and people watching. She was so pooped by the end of the day she was fast asleep befroe we got to the car. Such a trooper!

The Sculpture Garden

I just love these pictures of Cadence walking through the field of purple 'weeds'. I wish that you could see the true purple color of the weeds.

Shannon's Shower

I know I've been really bad about posting on here lately so here's a few new ones.

A few weekends ago, Cadence and I went to my friend Shannon's baby shower. It was a gorgeous day and we had a good time. Cadence found a ball that was just about...well ok...it was bigger than she was but she was obsessed with it. The above picture is of the cake. Our friend Deb is a fantastic cook/baker. She is so creative and of course all of her food tastes wonderful!
Here's the 'new' mama to be. She has a son Owen already and they are expecting another boy. We can't wait to meet him.
Here's the ball Cadence was playing with. Totally bigger than she is!

New Posts

I created some new posts so if you want, you can read from the bottom up. I forgot that the first post is usually the last one that people read. Hope you all enjoy and I promise there are more to come.

Airplane

Cadence did so well on the plane ride to and from Vermont. She slept for most of the way back to MN. I don't blame her, our flight was kind of early in the morning. Here she is sitting all by herself on the plane while daddy took a bathroom break. Little did I know it, while she was sitting here all by herself, she was also peeing through her diaper and onto the seat. Oops. It was not very easy changing an outfit on a 1 year old in such a small space. Oh well, it was an experience.
