Memere Comes!

We can't wait until our first visitor of 2008 arrives! My mom is coming out on April 25th...only 11 days away! I can't wait to show her the 100 mile garage sale! Every year there's a garage sale that starts in Red Wing (people just set up shop on their own property) and runs all the way down the river, over the bridge to Wisconsin and back up the river. When all is said and done, there is about 100 miles of people having garage sales. I can't wait to see what kind of deals we'll find!

A day of Fun

Saturday was a very busy day for us. Jon's Aunt Patti was in town for a convention. We went to visit her for a few hours in Minneapolis, had lunch and visited. It was so fun to visit relatives out here, since we never get to. Cadence enjoyed Aunt Patti reading to her.

Then we went to one of the hotels in the next town to swim. They 'rent' their pool to non-hotel users. It's very cheap and there's a hot tub for Mom and Dad!! Cadence just loves the water so I am very glad there is a place we can take her year round that doesn't cost an arm and a leg!

After swimming, we went to the grocery store. While we were there, we bought her her first toothbrush. We've been using a little silicone finger brush and well, it hurts when she bites your fingers! We didn't expect her to use the toothbrush that night because it was really late when we got home and she was sleeping the whole ride home (it was about a 40 minute ride). But, our little stinker woke right up as soon as we pulled into the driveway so we thought we'd give it a shot.
And, she loves her new toothbrush. We didn't even have to show her how to use it. She's a natural! I was kind of sad when I put her toothbrush in the toothbrush holder in the bathroom. That means that she's getting older.

Tired

The park tired her out and she slept the whole walk home. Good thing she found a comfortable position!

Another walk

It was beautiful outside yesterday! Jon and I took Cadence for another walk to the park. This time we tried out the swing (again) and the slides!! She seemed to enjoy them both.

Notice anything that is the same in all of these pictures? You guessed it! It's Mickey Mouse. This is her absolute favorite! She does not let this thing go--ever!!

First Swing

It was so nice out today! Jon took Cadence for a walk to the park right across the street from our house. She had her first experience with a swing! So cute!

New tricks

Cadence is starting to become more and more bold and brave. She recently has started to let go of our hands when she is standing up. We actually got some good video footage of her last night. She now lets go and stands where she is for a few seconds. She'll be walking before we know it. She's also getting very very close to crawling. She's moving all over the place any way she can without crawling. Crazy little girl!!

It's April!

What a way to start the season of Spring!!! Thank you Uncle Todd and Aunt Kristy for the AWESOME outfit! I know that the hat doesn't really match (in color) but that was Jon's doing.

So cute

What is with people these days? If you have the slightest bit of uncertainty about the sex of a baby it's best to just call it 'the baby' not he, not she, not boy or girl...just baby. I can't tell you how many people asked how hold 'he' was on this particular day or commented on how cute 'he' was. We'd answer by saying 'Well, SHE is 10 months old' or 'Thank you we think SHE'S pretty cute too'! There is a small hint that the baby might be a girl....if she's wearing pink...pretty good clue!!
So to put an end to this I'm starting to put her in hats or head wraps when I take her out!
