Day at the Park

Since it's been sort of nice out lately, I like to get together with friends outside at local parks (since there's like 30 in this dinky little town). This past weekend Cadence and I got together with friends Kim, Lea and Zack for some fun at the park!

As you can tell, Lea and Zack are both little monkeys! Lea helped Cadence walk around the park while Zack helped himself to climb everything in sight! Man wouldn't it be nice to be that young again. No worries, no fear...just go to school and play...wouldn't that be great?!?!

Me and my Baby Angeline

Cadence just started showing interest in her baby dolls. I love it, she is so cute with them. She shows them so much love (when she's not trying to chew their heads off).

Park Fun

Cadence and I go to the park almost every day for a nice long walk. Last weekend Jon and I decided to bring lunch down there and have a picnic...since Cadence is starting to finally eat baby food!

It was such a blast but was soooo cold so we didn't picnic for long. The park is right along the Mississisppi River so the breeze gets kind of cold.

Daddy, make me one

Cadence has found a new interset...daddy's guitars. She'll pull herself up on this particular guitar when she's crawling through the house. I finally decided to take it down and let her explore it on the floor. She absolutely LOVES it. She'll bang on the entire thing just to hear the sounds. We think that daddy needs to make Cadence her very own guitar!

Words

Cadence has a new favorite word...EYES! She has a book where the eyes of the animals move (with adult help of course). She'll now point to our eyes, her eyes, her babies' eyes, etc. and say 'eyes'. I can't wait to see what she'll come up with next.

Strike

You'd think that these people were striking against the cost of gas!

They are actually celebrating Minnesota's Sesquicentennial. They rode their horse and buggies throughout the state last week to begin the celebration.

New things

Cadence has started pointing to lots of things. Her favorite thing to point to is the inside of her nose. I swear we NEVER taught her this!

Cows

Today we took Cadence to my friend's house. She lives on a farm and has 90 cows and will have 91 calves by the end of the summer. (I think they have about 60 calves right now). Cadence got to go to the barn and see a couple of the new baby calves. She wasn't really sure what to make of them at all. I didn't get any pics of the baby calves as one was very sick and the other one's mother was very protective, so we didn't want to get too close!

Garage Sales Galore

This past weekend was the weekend of the 100 mile garage sales. My mom and I went to so many sales it's crazy! We found a TON of great deals, most of which we didn't need. It was so much fun, I can't wait to do it next year. We had to bundle Cadence up since it was so windy but she had a blast!

She got so tuckered out...
We had to go home and take a break for a little while!!

Poncho

Isn't this hand made poncho totally adorable!?!?!?!

Made with 100% love and affection!

I almost forgot!

Don't get upset but I forgot to tell everyone that Cadence started crawling about 3 weeks ago. We knew it was getting close as she was crawling all over Jon or I if she was sitting on the couch with us. We were absolutely thrilled when she started crawling on the floor!
She is so cute! When there is something in her way, she will pick it up and throw it behind her. She is very determined!! Most times she'll get tired of crawling and reach behind her (as Jon or I are right there following her every move) looking for our hands. Once she locates them, she pulls herself up and starts to walk. She is not at all coordinated yet to walk on her own but practice makes perfect!
I have a video that I will post in a few days. Jon has to put it on the computer first. Until then, here are some pics!
Rylee has been like a little mother hen since Cadence spends most of her time on the floor--whether it be crawling around or playing with her toys. Rylee is usually right there next to her rubbing on Cadence's arms. It's not what we expected from Rylee at all since she can be very 'moody' sometimes. She doesn't have her mean mood swings around Cadence which is great!

Visitor

Here are some pics from my mom's visit so far. We've had a pretty packed week but it sure has been fun. It's so wonderful when family comes out to visit. They get to spend one on one time with Cadence. It's so special for the visitor(s), Cadence and us. We love every second of it! Can't wait for the next visitors.
