My 2nd project

After making my best friend's wedding present (which is completed just not shipped yet--I'm so horrible), I decided I liked crotcheting. I thought that my next project should be a little smaller though. I decided to make my cousin a blanket for her new daughter, Belle who was born in March.
Since I've finished this one, I've started one for Cadence now.

Sleeping

So, I was just telling Jon the other day that we haven't gotten any pictures of Cadence sleeping in her crib for fear that she would wake up when the flash went off. The other night, Jon went upstairs to check on Cadence and this is what he saw.

Great Memere and Pepere

My grandparents drove out to visit Cadence, Jon and I for Cadence's first birthday. We're so lucky that they can still make the trip to see us. Hopfeully soon we'll be the ones visiting them in MA frequently. Cadence loved having them around, and so did we.

Feeding Myself

Cadence has learned that she'd rather do things herself. Lately she's into feeding herself which is quite the site to see. Even when she has no food on her fork or spoon, she'll put it in her mouth and act like it was the tastiest thing she's ever tasted!

The day has finally come. Cadence turned 'one' today. I can't believe how fast the past year has gone. All day today, I was re-living this day from last year. Almost every hour I was bugging someone by telling them 'what I did last year at this time'. Although there have been some pretty frustrating times, every day I get to see my daughter grow and learn means so much to me. I wouldn't give up any of it, even the sleepless nights! It is so amazing how fast they grow within this first year. From just barely being able to see our faces to being able to show us or tell us what she wants. It is all so amazing. I can't wait to see what the next year brings our way!

Happy Birthday!

We had Cadence's 1st birthday party yesterday at the park. It was such a blast! My grandparents drove out from Mass to help celebrate!

Good thing the park was right across the street from our house because Jon had to drive back and forth several times since we forgot a few things. Even though we took Jon's truck and my grandparents van, we still managed to forget some of the necessities. I never knew how much work it takes to plan a party. I don't think I'm much of a party planner. I think next year I'm going to leave it up to Jon!!
